Hair Loss Treatment

trixoptwsi

Hair loss is a common issue that affects both men and women, as severe hair loss significantly impacts their psychology. Early intervention is crucial because, in advanced stages, the results of hair loss may be permanent.

Treating hair loss is a challenge for dermatologists because it requires detailed examination to identify the exact causes behind it.

The first thing the doctor must do is examine the patient’s medical history, perform a trichogram or trichoscopy, and correctly assess the problem to propose the most effective treatment.

Ways to treat Hair Loss

There are several ways to combat hair loss. A dermatologist is the appropriate doctor to assess the situation and recommend the most effective method depending on the extent and severity of the problem.

Trichogram or Trichoscopy

With a trichogram and trichoscopy, the doctor has a better understanding of the problem and can give an appropriate treatment plan for each patient.

Specifically, an assessment is made of hair follicles and the percentage of anagen (growing phase) hairs, as the hairs are examined using a special machine. The number of hair follicles, their thickness, and their general condition are evaluated.

Repeating a trichoscopy after a few months shows the improvement of the hairs compared to the first examination, allowing the effectiveness of the ongoing treatment to be assessed. Additionally, scalp disorders can be diagnosed.

Blood Tests

To address hair loss, it’s important to assess levels of:

  • Iron
  • Ferritin
  • Zinc

Thyroid function also plays a significant role. Regulating all these factors can help solve the problem.

Conservative Treatment

Topical Treatments

Topical treatments with pharmaceutical substances that inhibit 5-alpha-reductase are recommended.

Systemic Oral Treatments

This involves administering tablets such as vitamins, trace elements, and hormonal preparations for women.

Autologous PRP Mesotherapy

PRP strengthens the hair follicle and combats hair loss. We take a small quantity of blood (10 ml), followed by centrifugation and separation of the platelets and plasma.

PRP enhances blood flow to the scalp and strengthens the hair, making it appear more vibrant. This is due to the plasma, which is rich in platelets. Often, PRP is used in combination with other treatments, such as hair transplants, or as a preventative measure to stop further hair loss.

The treatment needs to be repeated monthly initially, and then at longer intervals for maintenance. The number of sessions depends on the extent of the problem and the progress of the treatment.

    Stem Cells

Stem cell therapy is an innovative method that dramatically reduces hair loss. It is widely used for the treatment of challenging and persistent scalp diseases, such as alopecia areata, folliculitis decalvans, and discoid lupus. It also has excellent results for androgenetic alopecia.

Using local anesthesia, adipocytes (fat cells) are collected from a part of the body where there is excess fat. Then, a special technique is used to separate the stem cells.

Next, the stem cells are injected into areas where there is hair thinning. This process has been successfully conducted for years at our center, Derma Hair Clinic.

    Genetic DNA Test

The DNA Test is a state-of-the-art technology test. It analyzes 48 genetic variations in 13 genes associated with hair loss and identifies the most effective pharmaceutical substances among nearly 50 options for hair care, pinpointing those to which each individual responds best.

Thus, the treatment is personalized and targeted, avoiding the trial-and-error approach in finding the appropriate treatment. It is a completely painless process and needs to be done only once. The effectiveness is as high as 99.9%.

    Laser Hair Loss Treatment (LLLT)

Using lasers increases microcirculation in the scalp area, reducing hair loss and revitalizing hair. This is a painless method without side effects and is suitable for both men and women.

    Hair Transplant FUE

In cases where the hair thinning is permanent and the above treatments are not effective, hair transplantation is applied. Specifically, with the most popular method, Power FUE, healthy hairs are transferred to areas with thinning, significantly restoring hair density.

The procedure is painless due to the use of local anesthesia and leaves no marks. The patient can immediately return to their daily routines, and most importantly, the result is permanent and very natural.
